Lance Hartley Crossley is a Canadian novelist and former award-winning journalist whose work explores the collision between private lives and historical forces. His reporting career spanned publications such as The Prague Post, The Haliburton County Echo, and The Ottawa Citizen. In rural Ontario he won eight writing awards in less than two years and received an Honourable Mention for Reporter of the Year in 2007. He later served for a decade as a senior writer for the Ontario government.
Before turning to fiction, Crossley’s journalism and narrative features were recognized nationally for emotional clarity and depth. That same commitment to human truth now animates his novels — stories in which private lives are shaped, broken, or transformed by the larger forces of history, belief, and power.
His new novel, The God Letters, is currently in development and out on submission. He lives in Canada.
